Haven in a Hurricane

As Hurricane Nicholas gained strength and headed toward the lower Texas coast, we had several bird sightings in and around the Rockport area. This red-shouldered hawk spent a couple of hours hanging out in our neighbor’s tree. At one point we watched him eat a frog while he waited out the storm. I think he saw us watching him and decided to pose for a moment.
