Bluebonnets {2015}

Now that we live in Rockport, the 11th annual Miller bluebonnet photos took place a little earlier than what this central Texas girl is used to.  And where in the Coastal Bend area does one find a nice patch of bluebonnets to photograph?  We are on a peninsula surrounded by the Texas coast!  You want palm trees, we got ya covered, but I was having a hard time finding a patch of blue that wasn't in someone's yard.  Then I remembered that we live just a couple of miles from Goose Island State Park. State parks always have bluebonnets!  Problem solved.

Now just to solve the problem of three uncooperative kids who are already making faces and picking at each other even before we get out of the car.

It was this same place where we met a fantastic family who were camp-working at Goose Island.  They have been traveling and "road-schooling" for the past year and are blogging about their adventures at Wild Places Open Spaces.  We hit it off right away and are go grateful that these pictures led to meeting them!  More pictures of our adventures with the Altemus family to come!
